Last night we enjoyed dinner at 'Ohana. For those who don't know, this all-you-can-eat restaurant is located in The Polynesian Resort. Some of the food is brought on platters and served family style, and some is brought by served from skewers.
The meal starts with Hawaiian bread and butter. Salad, chicken wings, dumplings, noodles, and stir fired vegetables are served along with peanut dipping sauce. Then chicken, pork, steak, and shrimp (not pictured) are brought on skewers. Dessert is banana bread pudding and vanilla ice cream.
This is one of my favorite restaurants on Disney property (or anywhere for that matter). The menu has experienced a few changes from time to time, but the food has remained delicious.
For two adults and one child the cost was $90 (before tip). This did include non-alcoholic drinks. I think it is well worth the expense. There is some entertainment throughout the meal. A ukulele-playing singer serenades guests. In addition, they offer some entertainment for children. My son had a fantastic time with the coconut races (they use a broom to move a coconut around the restaurant).
My favorite items of the night were the noodles and the chicken on the skewer, but all of the food was delicious. My son ate more than I did, especially the shrimp.
The only drawback to 'Ohana is that it is hard to get an advanced dining reservation (ADR). It is best to make an ADR at 180 days (180+10 for people staying onsite). There is a slim chance for walk ups, but you may be waiting in line for an extended period of time with no guarantee of getting a seat.
