The resort is farther away from most of the other Disney location (except Animal Kingdom. It is less than a five minute bus ride from AKL to AK). The bus service was fine today. We did not wait long at all, but we did not have seats as we were at Jambo House, and the busses stop at Kidani Village (the DVC portion) first.
The lobby is amazing. It is several stories high, and it takes my breath away when I enter. I love just sitting and enjoying the atmosphere.

There are several dining options at Jambo House. There is a fine dining experience at Jiko, a buffet called Boma, and a quick service restaurant named Mara. We haven't tired Jiko yet, but Boma is wonderful. There is a diverse selection for those adventurous eaters, but the restaurant also has more "normal" food (such as mac & cheese).
Today we stopped by Mara for a snack. Although there are several delicious meal options, we came simply for the Zebra Domes. We first had these at Boma, but you can also buy a four pack ($3.79) in the cooler section at Mara. They are kahlua-flavored covered with chocolate. They are rich, but well worth the calories!

After eating our snack we headed out to look around. Today was a raining day, so we did not stay as long, but the grounds are gorgeous. There are several different savannahs, with room options overlooking those. Just imagine waking up to zebras or coming back for a midday break and watching the animals from your balcony!
Although this resort is a bit further out than some of the others, its unique look and lower price (for a deluxe) make it an excellent choice.
